Privacy Policy

How MurMur protects data related to the website and MurMur apps.

Scope

This policy covers the murmur-edu.fr website, website forms, support emails, and MurMur apps distributed on the App Store and Google Play, including MurMur Picture Dictionary.

Data collected on the website

On this website, the waitlist form collects your email address and the role you voluntarily select (parent, teacher, speech therapist, or other). This information is used only to send you information about MurMur and its launch. The form may be processed by our form and email service provider.

Data in MurMur apps

MurMur apps do not create child accounts and do not ask for a child's name, email address, photo, location, or contacts. App settings needed for operation, such as language, sound, screen-time limit, daily usage, installed packs, and cached subscription state, are stored locally on the device.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

MurMur Picture Dictionary uses Firebase Analytics to measure limited events, such as opening a pack or category, viewing the Premium screen, starting or completing a purchase, and restoring purchases. These events measure only app usage: they do not include names, email addresses, age, photos, free-text messages, or information that directly identifies a child or parent. The app never asks for location permission and never adds a position to these events. However, like any internet request, sending them transmits the device's IP address to Google, which derives an approximate location from it, at city level. MurMur does not receive that IP address from Google and does not store it: we only see the derived location, attached to a resettable installation identifier rather than to a person. It tells us which regions the app is downloaded and used from. These measurements help us understand overall usage and improve the app. They are not used for advertising, are not sold, and are not shared with advertising networks. MurMur apps do not display third-party ads, do not use the IDFA, and remove the Android AD_ID permission when the app targets children.

Subscriptions and payments

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing depending on the platform. MurMur does not receive your payment card details. To verify Premium access, the app may send our subscription server a locally generated app user identifier, the platform, the purchased product identifier, and the receipt or purchase token provided by the store. The server returns a session token and subscription status used to unlock Premium content.

Premium packs and technical services

Premium content may be downloaded from MurMur services, including the packs.imagier.murmur-edu.fr domain. The app checks a pack manifest, downloads the files needed for the selected language, and verifies their integrity before local installation. These technical exchanges are used only to provide purchased content and keep the app usable offline once packs are installed.

Support and contact

If you contact MurMur by email, we use the information you provide only to respond to your request and provide support. These exchanges are not used for advertising. In MurMur Picture Dictionary, the parental area also includes a contact and ideas form. Messages voluntarily entered there are sent to Cloud Firestore with the date, app language, and platform.

Retention

Waitlist data is kept until you unsubscribe or until the waitlist is no longer used for the project launch. Support emails are kept for the time needed to handle the request and provide reasonable follow-up. Messages sent from the parental area are kept as long as needed to read them, fix potential bugs, and provide reasonable product follow-up. Local app data is stored on the device and stays there until the app is deleted or the system resets it. It may be included in the backup performed by the operating system (Google Drive or iCloud), under the user's own account and according to their own settings, and restored onto a device belonging to them. MurMur has no access to those backups.

Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and request portability of your personal data. To exercise your rights or unsubscribe, contact: contact@murmur-edu.fr. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL. When data depends on Apple, Google, or Firebase, some requests may also need to be made directly to those services.

Cookies

This website may use technical cookies required for operation. No advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies are used on this website.

External links

The parental area may open external links, such as MurMur legal pages, the device email client, Instagram, the App Store, or Google Play for reviews and subscription management. These services apply their own terms and privacy policies.
